Synergizing Corporate and Brand Identity: An Integrated Marketing Approach in the Bio Industry

초록

The bio industry, encompassing biotechnology, pharmaceuticals, and advanced therapeutics, is experiencing unprecedented growth driven by rapid innovation, strategic global expansion, and increasing demand for personalized medicine. Within this dynamic and competitive landscape, companies face the complex challenge of balancing a unified corporate identity with the distinct brand identities of their specialized business units. This study focuses on GC Cell, a global leader in cell and gene therapy, as a case study for exploring the integration of corporate and brand identities across four key business units: Cell Therapy Product, R&D, CDMO, and Bio Logistics. Using a qualitative methodology comprising a literature review, comparative case studies of Roche and Novartis, and stakeholder interviews, the study identifies opportunities and challenges in achieving brand coherence and differentiation. Key findings reveal tensions between operational silos and cross-unit synergies, and between stakeholder-specific messaging and corporate consistency. Strategic recommendations include adopting a hybrid brand architecture, centralizing brand governance, launching cross-brand campaigns, leveraging digital platforms, and embedding ESG initiatives into branding strategy. This study serves as both a reflection on GC Cell's current branding practices and a strategic roadmap for optimizing corporate-brand alignment.
